Start by figuring out which box to open first and more items will be revealed.

Step 1 – Open the small CLASSIFIED box

Do you notice something about the word ‘CLASSIFIED’ on one of the boxes?

Try turning the word ‘CLASSIFIED’ upside down.

Upside down the word ‘CLASSIFIED’ has 4 numbers hidden within.

Step 2 – Open the Briefcase

Did you notice the strange stickers on the briefcase? Where else have you seen these patterns?

How many of each pattern did you find? What could this mean?

The stickers on the briefcase refer to 4 characters in an alien language. Count the number of times each one appears on the canvas squares to determine the number

Step 3 – Solve the Language

You’ll find 3 green bells, 2 silver bells and 1 gold bell. The cover of the carol book has music notes in green, silver and gold. Read the music and add up the number of bells for each of the 5 grouping of notes:

  1. Gold + Silver (1 + 2)
  2. Green + Silver (3 + 2)
  3. Gold (1)
  4. Green + Gold (3 + 1)
  5. SIlver (2)

 

You’ll find 3 green bells, 2 silver bells and 1 gold bell. The cover of the carol book has music notes in green, silver and gold. Read the music and add up the number of bells for each of the 5 grouping of notes:

Step 4 – Open the Military Boxes

The stickers on the boxes are a hint! Did you notice that the stars on the star chart match the star sticker on the box?

Do you notice that, on the star chart, some stars are identified by letters? Which stars do you need?

Do you notice that some areas of the map have numbers? What could they be referring to?

Find the numbers 1,2,3,4 on the star chart. The letters found on the stars in these sectors are the four LETTER combination.

The stickers on the boxes are a hint! Did you notice that the map of Canada matches the sticker on the box?

What else refers to locations? Have you noticed the envelope?

The envelope seems to have jumped from location to location across Canada. What happens if you draw a line following each path?

Draw a line connecting the locations in each grouping of locations. The path of each grouping is an alien character which represents a number.

The stickers on the boxes are a hint! Did you notice that UFO on the sticker matches the UFOs on the overlay pages?

Can you complete each CONTACT circle by selecting certain overlays?

What shapes or paths are made when each CONTACT circle is complete?

Complete the CONTACT circles by selecting certain overlays. The paths created by the radar lines are numbers written in the alien language.

Other than the image, what is different about each photograph?

If you put the photos in order of year.. What could you do with the months?

Put the photos in order of year and use the first letter of each month to determine the code.

Step 5 – Open the Wooden Crate

The stickers on the boxes are a hint! Did you notice that the sticker refers to the test tubes? What else might help you with this puzzle?

Can you use the sample data sheet, periodic table and THREE test tubes to determine which elements spell the code?

Don’t forget to read ALL the information provided. It’s all there!

Using Logic and the materials provided figure out what’s in each test tube. OK is a hint.

Interesting puzzle pieces… But what does it make? The sticker will help!

What does the sticker in the box say? Where have you seen that star before?

Can you use the ship to make four jumps from the station? What letters are found?

Assemble the ship and, starting on the space station, make four ‘jumps’ by using the ship to determine the correct distance between stars. The four found stars will be the combination.

What do these alien heads mean and where have you seen them before? Check the briefcase documents!

Are all heads the same shape? Which one belongs to which colour?

What does the sticker in the box say? Does it tell you the order in which to place the inserts?

What do you notice about the lines made by the puzzle pieces?

Match the heads to pictures of the aliens and the colour of the insert to the background. The sticker will tell you the order (GREEN,BLUE, YELLOW, RED) and the negative space of the fit puzzle pieces are numbers written in the alien language.

Step 6 – Open the Red Box

The bottom of the red box has a sticker. Where else have you seen this sticker? Could the key be here?

Explore the final box where you found the red box. Can you find any more information?

How can the case file be key? Where is it? And can it be turned into a 4 digit number?

Have you looked back to the first box? It looks like math.

The key for the red box is in the locked key box. The combination is the ‘Subtraction’ of the Case File # (found in the first classified box). Use the key to unlock the red box and save the planet!
